Cool game! Thought it was funny that I was a police officer yet I only brought a VHS recorder, no other weapon. I used to have bad apartment neighbors so this brings me back lol. Cool game!
btw, just played your game "The Lancaster Leak" it was really well done, good job, if you don't mind me asking, how did you go about creating a believable outdoor environment?
Used a high-quality asset (I use Unity) but also I found that found footage post-processing hides mistakes lol. When things are grainy it tends to mesh assets together so you don't have to worry about asset mismatch.
Thanks for the response, yeah I found the vhs post processing effect helped hide some imperfections in the lighting and what not in my game, assets are the number 1 thing holding me back creatively right now so I'm trying to get good at that and I think I'm gonna go for a ps1 style in my future games.
Loved the aesthetic, but I had to stop playing due to motion sickness. Though I like that the light moves first and then the camera it is very exaggerated and you should make options for that and motion blur. Maybe the fov could be a little bit higher but I guess that a stylistic choice. You should keep on making games this is good, it's a shame I can't play it without getting motion sickness
This was super stressful! I really didn't care for the flashlight mechanics. That aside, it's an amazing start to something I believe will be VERY COOL!
I really enjoyed this. I kept getting stuck and didn't know where to go next, but when I figured it out , it was so obvious. Tension was very well done, scares were good too. Awesome job !

Hello, I was wondering if there was a way to adjust the settings from Ultra? When I try to adjust any settings, it resets back to Ultra and ultimately crashes the game lol.
Ok so I've had a lot of people reporting this issue to me, basically the text box in the settings reset but your graphics settings are applied, the only ones which are not applied are resolution and fullscreen so just set those through the in game pause menu.
This was so well done! The scares were fantastic and I really enjoyed the swaying back and forth of the camera! It really added to the fear when trying to move in a hurry! Such a good job!
I saw this game and went into it not really expecting much but it surprised me . This was a very fun , spooky game ! The environment had me on edge most of the playthrough! I loved the style and didn't mind the chase ! Great game

When it comes to audio I used another Unity asset that helps with blending audio like outside -> inside. Also making random 3D sounds like when the wendigo surrounds you.
I'm sure there are unreal equivalents. I'm excited to see what you make next!

https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/templates/systems/retro-horror-template-24... for unity is pretty good for psx. I think most of the devs here that do psx use this actually. I know a lot of them get psx assets here on itch too.
